Choosing the right real estate agent.

Generally, people don’t do business with people they don’t like. That age, old rule also stands true when working with a Real Estate agent to sell your home. If you can’t build a rapport, working together to achieve the best result is unlikely to be successful.

So, what should you be looking for when choosing the right Agent?

• Work ethic. What kind of Agent are they? Is this their career or are they more of a ‘lifestyler’ type Agent. A Real Estate Professional with a top-notch work ethic is someone who consistently gets results. They are working furiously in the background, even when they know no-one is watching, pushing your property to potential buyers. Ask around. Read reviews. You’ll soon get a feeling if this is the kind of Agent they are.
• Clear, Open communication and Transparency. Your agent should not hesitate to provide good honest feedback, even if its not all sunshine and rainbows.
  They’re experienced enough to be able to evaluate the market constantly and to relay back to you what needs to be done to get the results you’re looking for.
• The three P’s – Polite, professional and punctual. Need I say more……
• Knowledge. An experienced Agent has done their research. They know the market, they know your area and hey, they may even already know your house if it, and they, have been around for a while!
• It’s a two-way street. You need to be honest and open with your Agent so they can tailor their services to your situation. You’re selling for a reason right? So, it’s important your agent works with on your team, and in turn, you are on theirs.
